Salt Lake City, Utah. We start off our list with a very popular city. Salt Lake City is a paradise for those that love the winter outdoors. There are some world class resorts to ski and Millcreek Canyon is a favorite of mine that offers a handful of short or long snowshoeing hikes.
Boulder, Colorado. This fun college town is right at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. In addition to the skiing and snowboarding, Boulder offers a lot of great sledding locations. If you are brave enough, Boulder also offers the Polar Plunge during their Winter Events.
South Carolina Anyone?
Hilton Head, South Carolina. Hilton Head Island is a beautiful vacation destination in South Carolina, complete with sandy beaches, great golf courses and a diverse choice of activities. Enjoy trail running through live oak forests, kayaking next to dolphins, or going for sunset bike rides on the beach. However, your ideal outdoor destination includes warm weather and stunning beaches you may even consider travel nursing jobs in Hawaii.
Asheville, North Carolina. Most of Asheville’s treasures are found in the great outdoors. Travelers can start their Asheville adventure by hitting the open road on the Blue Ridge Parkway. From there, most people love hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail or, during the summer, go for a dip in a swimming hole in Pisgah National Forest.

Washington D.C. Start your outdoor activities in our nation’s capital by walking or running through all the monuments. From there, you can enjoy water activities on the Potomac River or hiking at nearby Great Falls.
Seattle, Washington. Seattle is a great city for any travel therapist that loves the outdoors. The city is surrounded by forests, mountains and the sea. If you’re a Washington travel nurse, you can go over to Bainbridge Island, Olympic National Park and the Cascades.
San Francisco, California. The City by the Bay is one of the most popular locations for travel therapists. Not only does it have great places to work, it also has great outdoor activities.
